1. disgruntle turtle, content in staying where he is and not moving, he’s one of those 100 year old turtles you see in the zoo, maybe he escaped after a post nuclear war.
2. A post nuclear wasteland desert, debris is laying everywhere, few signs of life, like rats, dogs, maybe various types of escaped zoo animals, lemurs. Maybe his shade (because I liked the umbrella idea) is a crumpled up road sign that he hides under, maybe to avoid the fallout of radiation from the sky.
3. A strong gust of wind blows the road sign to the other side of the road/highway and A hybrid rock hair bunny wants the road sign for own shade and tries to steal it.
4. The turtle must over come his slothness to beat the hybrid rock bunny in a slow race to the road sign to reclaim his home.
5. The turtle muscles up the straight to get up and start walking to his home slowly. He puts every single ounce of energy he has into not caring and running as fast as he can to his beloved home.
6. As the slow bound bunny and turtle barley make it halfway across the highway, the bunny tries to cut off the turtle and disorient it, but fails and gets caught in a pot hole (his hybrid rock body gets suck in it) then suddenly a convoy of human refugees drive by, the turtle quickly hides in its shell, as the convoy knocks the turtle to the other side of the road but other wise un harming it, but also flattening and turning the bunny into road kill.
7. The story resolves as the turtle gets back home and is once again at piece.
This is awesome. I love the post-apocalyptic idea with the debris, especially having a road sign be his shade.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw "A hybrid rock hair bunny" I initially thought you meant like...hair metal. Like a rabbit in leather pants. Bret Michaels. But the turtle/hare dynamic is nice, I think it'd be cool to explore that a little more.
It may be a tough sell initially for an audience to understand where a hybrid-rock-bunny came from unless they completely understand it as an effect from fallout or something. Any suggests on how to convey this? Anything but the cheesy news-clip montage of screaming people, zombies, and mushroom clouds. And this would also tie in to the audience recognizing a convoy of humans as refugees.

ReplyDeletePerhaps show a slow misleading intro prompting the viewer that it is the post-WW3 in near future. Then slowly pan across a explosively-created desert with a few mutinized mice of some sort scurrying from debris to debris. Then the pan slows to an off-centered sign saying, 'Welcome to New York: Population: blablabla'
